What's this all about, then?

Eating and reviewing unusual food from around the world.

I live in Guandong, China, right now, probably the world epicentre of offal. Each week I will try a strange menu item, usually with an inappropriately flowery name and report back with photos and an in-depth review.

Why are you doing this?

I'm probably going to be a vegetarian in a few years, but I want to try to eat (almost) everything edible first.

Is there anything you won't eat?

Endangered animals are off the menu, and so are cats. I've got two at home and feel vaguely sentimental about them. Cats, that is. There is a fairly popular Cantonese winter soup called 'dragon fights tiger' which is made of snake and cat, which I won't be trying.
Dogs are, of course, fair game.

Can I post a review?

I was going to make this into a community, but a quick search revealed there already was one with a similar remit at foodofwrong. If you want to join in I suggest you go there.
